The Military Junta is committing in a way of mass murder, a genocide against its own people by spreading COVID freely across the nation, and by hoarding the oxygen supplies and restricting medical resources available to the public. The people of Myanmar watch their loved ones suffered from lack of oxygen supply, essential medications and immediate treatments.

WONDER WOMEN
Myanmar's Women Are Fighting for a New Future After a Long History of Military Oppression. Women have been a backbone in Myanmar’s fight for democracy, not just in 1988 but they have been fighting since the British colonial rule.
In the latest turmoil, women including nurses and teachers have taken to the streets and social media to protest, with some worried that women’s rights could be rolled back by the male-dominated junta, based on its previous record. The most promising sign of a much-needed return to gender equality in Myanmar is that the National Unity Government, made up of ousted lawmakers in hiding, has appointed several women ministers, including human rights advocate and former political prisoner Zin Mar Aung as minister for foreign affairs and Ei Thinzar Maung as deputy minister of women, youth and children’s affairs—the latter appointment being groundbreaking in more ways than one, as she is the youngest minister ever at the age of 26. Despite all the odds, women have used their momentum to vocalise their opposition to patriarchal control and the lack of democratic freedom in the country. |
